The grand Khandagiri Jatra Mahakumbh is set to come alive in Bhubaneswar from Tuesday night.

As per reports, the much-awaited cultural extravaganza will continue for 12 days, with performances being staged across seven pandals. This year, a total of 15 jatra (theatre) parties will perform at Khandagiri, turning the historic site into a vibrant hub of art, drama, and entertainment.

In the first phase starting today, as many as four yatra parties will reportedly step onto the jatra grounds to enthrall audiences. At the Indira Sanskrutik Parishad pandal, the popular yatra troupe Yatra Rani Singhbahini will stage the play “Tu Mo Bajrangi”, featuring renowned actor Piyush Tripathy in a leading role.

Similarly, at Ghatikia Sanatan, the Konark Gananatya group will present the play “Tu Mo Bhagyare Nahu”. At the Harekrushna Mahatab stage, the Ashok Samrat Opera troupe will perform the drama “Adha Rahigala Ama Kahani”. Meanwhile, at the Anantakesari Deva Pandal, Dhauli Gananatya will captivate audiences with its presentation of the play “Chandashoka.”

As a result, large crowds have been seen gathering at the ticket counters since early morning, reflecting the immense popularity and cultural significance of this iconic yatra festival.
