Berhampur: Civil supplies officials today seized a kerosene loaded truck beingsmuggled to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, the police said. Civil supplies department officials cracked down on the Andhra Pradesh bound truck and found 17,000 litre kerosene meant for distribution under PDS, they said.
The vehicle was seized at Goshaninuagon on the outskirt of the town, said the district civil supply officer, Ganjam, P D M Khusla. He said the truck was going from Phulabani in Kandhamal district to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
The driver of the vehicle was detained. Inquiry was on to identify owner of the vehicle and the persons involved in the smuggling of the kerosene, the CSO said.
