Kendrapara: With barely two days left for the municipal election the political para has moved northwardly and several heavy weights of all the three political parties have started camping in the town to woo voters and draw last minute strategy to grab the prestigious municipality.

The BJD which had fought the last election in an alliance with the BJP, this time is all alone in the race. The party he intensified its campaign in all the wards of the municipality. Its Kendrapara Lok Sabha member Baijayanta Panda and urban development minister Sarada Nayak on Friday campaigned in favour of the party candidates in several wards.

Later in the evening, Baijayanta Panda huddled together with  Patkura MLA Ved Prakash Agarwal, Rajnagar MLA Alekh Jena, Kendrapara MLA Sipra Mallik and cabinet minister Prafulla Samal at the town party office to draw strategy for the election. The BJD has been trying to woo the voters by presenting the achievements of the Naveen government in the state while pointing at the failures of the UPA government at the Centre. The party leaders claimed that it would win at least 21 wards in the oldest municipality in the state.

Likewise, the Congress party too has intensified its campaigning in all the wards and trying to woo the voters showing failures of the BJD government in the state.
