Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled Odisha visit, Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao, also known as KCR, will meet Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on December 23. The proposed visit has sparked speculation over a new political equation in the form of an alliance of non-BJP and non-Congress parties or front in the country ahead of the crucial 2019 elections.

Sources said KCR will meet Odisha CM at Naveen Niwas and likely to hold consultations on the matter even though official confirmation is yet to be received over the schedule meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here that Telangana CM had also held consultations with former prime minister and JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda as per his plans to forge an alternative front in the past. After meeting Odisha CM, KCR will also meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil projects worth Rs 14,523 crore during his visit to Odisha on December 24.  He will also unveil a commemorative Rs 200 coin and a postal stamp as a part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of Paika Rebellion in the State.
