It was a princely state in British India and in post independence period it merged with Odisha state as Kalahandi district. Kalahandi is an example of disparity/contrasts that exist in many parts of the developing/underdeveloped world. On the one side, this district is famous for famine and starvation deaths and on the other side it is rich with agriculture. Kalahandi is largely an agriculture based economy. The number of daily Covid -19 positive cases continues to drop for the fourth consecutive day in Odisha. The State reported 9,793 fresh cases with 18 fatalities in last 24 hours.
Odisha continues to witness a dip in number of Covid 19 cases for last three days. The number of daily infections which stood at 10,635 yesterday has come down to 10,031 today. The total caseload has mounted to 54, 4873 following today’s figures.
