Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a 200-bed COVID-19 hospital set up by aluminium major Vedanta Resources in Kalahandi district.
The Covid-19 related fatalities in the State has turned into a major reason of concern as the number of daily deaths is hovering over 30 for the last few days even as the single-day positive cases has come down drastically.
As many as 11,059 new Covid-19 cases and 32 fatalities have been reported in Odisha in last 24 hours. The caseload in the State went up to 7,03,441 while Covid related death toll climbed to 2,516.
Odisha’s Covid caseload jumped to 67,9530 on Saturday with 11,108 new cases having been reported in the last 24 hours.
Along with the lockdown, the weekend shutdown will be remain in force in the weekends starting from 6 pm of Fridays to 5 am on Mondays in Odisha.
With today’s surge, the Covid-19 positive tally in Odisha rose to 6,33,302 while the death toll jumped to 2,357, informed the H&FW Department.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha's active Covid cases continue to remain above 1 lakh due a steady surge in fresh infections despite a healthy recovery rate.
Odisha again crossed 10, 000 mark in single-day Covid spike with 10, 649 people testing positive for the contagious disease in last 24 hours. The fresh cases took the State's cumulative count to 57, 6297.
After witnessing a steady decline in number of daily covid-19 cases, Odisha once again registered an upswing in the infection figures with 10982 people testing positive for the virus in last 24 hours, causing significant worry for the State which is currently under lockdown to check rising cases.
Several places across Odisha especially coastal parts are likely to experience thunderstorm activities including light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty surface winds on Tuesday.
The number of daily Covid -19 positive cases continues to drop for the fourth consecutive day in Odisha. The State reported 9,793 fresh cases with 18 fatalities in last 24 hours.
Odisha continues to witness a dip in number of Covid 19 cases for last three days. The number of daily infections which stood at 10,635 yesterday has come down to 10,031 today. The total caseload has mounted to 54, 4873 following today’s figures.
