Bhubaneswar: A junior town planner of Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) has been arrested by Odisha's anti-corruption vigilance wing for possessing assets disproportionate to his income.

Junior town planner Bishnu Pasad Sahu was fowrarded to court and remanded to judicial custody till December six after being arrested yesterday, a vigilance official said today.

Vigilance sleuths had detected wealth worth about Rs 1.39 crore during raids conducted recently on Sahu's premises, sources said adding his properties included two residential buildings in Cuttack besides homestead plots.

During house search, movable assets like costly household articles, a car, one motor-cycle, gold ornaments weighing 1 Kg 480 grams and silver ornaments weighing 2 kg 400 grams, deposits in different Banks, LIC and other financial institutions to the tune of 4,86,000/- and hard cash of Rs 3,19,000 were also detected.
