JSPL 2 MTPA plant to go on stream within 3 months
“We are hopeful to start two MTPA of the plant within three months,” said JSPL Chairman and Managing Director Naveen Jindal after meeting top state officials at the secretariat here.
Talking to reporters the industrialist said, “Very soon we’ll also sign an MoU with the state government regarding the coal-to-liquid (CTL) plant.”
According to sources, the proposed Rs 45,000 crore CTL unit will produce 80,000 barrel of liquid petroleum per annum including petrol, diesel, aviation fuel and kerosene. For the greenfield plant with an annual coal requirement of about 25 million tonne, the state government, it is learnt has already allocated a coal block to facilitate raw materials.
The CTL project also needs a thermal power plant of 1,100 MW capacity which would work as captive plant for the set up.
This would be the second such plant in the state after Tata group showed interest to set up a similar unit in Dhenkanal district. Officials said, environment impact assessment study for the plant which will take about five years for total construction work, is completed.
