Koraput: Bringing glory for Odisha, Jeypore All India Radio (AIR) station received top prize in two categories at the Akashvani Annual Awards-2017 held this month.

The programmes "Indradhanu@9" and "Kahaku Na Maniba Para" received 1st prize in Public Announcement Programme and 2nd prize in National Integration categories respectively.

"The results were announced on October 15th. Two programmes from Jeypore AIR got the awards in Public Announcement Programme and National Integration categories," a Jeypore AIR official said.

"The Indradhanu program is a central government's initiative to spread awareness on additional vaccinations for 2-year-old toddlers," Chief Executive of Jeypore AIR, Jugal Kishore Panda, said.

In a bid to promote professional excellence and bring out the best form the staff working at various radio stations and installations; Akashvani Annual Awards were instituted in 1974. Some award winning programmes under this scheme have also received international acclaim.
