Jewellery worth over Rs 25 lakh looted from shop owner in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Gold ornaments worth over Rs 25 Lakh was looted from a jewellery shop owner at Indradhanu Market under Nayapalli Police limits of Bhubaneswar last night.
As per reports, the owner of ‘Maa Gouri Jewellers’ and his wife were shutting down shutters of the shop yesterday night when an unidentified person decamped with their jewellery bag they had kept nearby the shop. The looted bag reportedly contained gold ornaments weighing around 1 Kg.
The owner of the jewellery shop lodged an FIR at Nayapalli Police station soon after the incident. Police reached the spot and immediately launched a probe into the theft basing on the footages captured in the nearby installed CCTV cameras.
It may be noted that, loot incidents in the capital city have turned out to be a big challenge for the Commissionerate Police. Incidents of series loots and snatching have been reported from several localities of Bhubaneswar in recent weeks.
