Jay plans AP visit to know Odia workers’ conditions

Bhubaneswar: Concerned over alleged torture on migrant Odia workers in the brick klins of Ranga Reddy district and other parts of Andhra Pradesh, senior BJD leader and Kendrapara MP Baijayant 'Jay' Panda is going to visit the neighbouring state in the second week of April to know the real condition of workers.

During his visit to Andhra Pradesh the Lok Sabha MP is expected to interact with the officials of the  state to discuss the issue.

Earlier, Panda wrote to Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the Commissioner of National Human Rights Commission on the alleged harassment of the brick klin workers. The issue was widely reported in regional and national media in the last few weeks.

The BJD leader will also meet activists who have taken up the cause of Odia migrant workers.
