Jay Panda’s revelations on ruling-BJD affairs create flutter
Bhubaneswar: Revelations on the affairs of the ruling-BJD by former MP of Kendrapara, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, who recently quit from BJD and the Lok Sabha, seem to have created quite a flutter.
In an interview to OTV, Panda not only highlighted corruption and anti-incumbency, but also warned that Odisha CM and party president Naveen Patnaik’s image will be dented and demanded a CBI or ED probe into the unconstitutional exercise of power by a serving bureaucrat.
Citing that the party has changed drastically and digressed from its original course, Panda expressed his concerns over Naveen being under siege of a coterie.
“Panda’s allegation on bureaucrats meddling in party matters particularly like collecting funds and arranging tickets is like murder of democracy. At present, Naveen Patnaik has become a puppet in the hands of serving bureaucrats and makes his moves based on their suggestions,” said Odisha Congress working president, leader Pradip Majhi.
“Be it PC (percentage commission) in government works, corruption or misappropriation of funds, members of only one party are involved. The bureaucrats who are under the patronage of Chief Minister Naveen have become so powerful that even if they get entangled in illegal activities like corruption, they still manage to come out clean. There should be probe against such officers,” said BJP leader Pratap Sarangi.
On the other hand, BJD Spokesperson, Pratap Deb said nowadays in the time of RTI Act, nothing can remain hidden and everything is open for scrutiny.
Reacting to Panda’s statements, Deb said first of all he should himself decide what he wants to do and leave to us what we want to do.
