Kendrapara: Few days after BJD chief and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik accused BJP national vice president Baijayant 'Jay' Panda of spreading rumours about his health, the former parliamentarian today strongly refuted the allegations.
Soon after CM had accused Panda of spreading rumours, Panda in a tweet had earlier rejected such allegations and had wished Naveen a good health in a tweet.
That's just a ridiculous thing to say. Also, it's false.
It's very sad to see him descend into this paranoia about me.
I pray to Lord Jagannath to give him the good sense to reject such nonsensical conspiracy theories, and also bless him with continued good health ??? https://t.co/fzkzApwHu1

While talking to reporters during his visit to Mahakalpada in his Kendrapara parliamentary constituency, Panda today said, "The allegations levelled by CM are absolutely baseless. People of Odisha very well know about the 50-year-old association of my father with late Biju Patnaik."
Panda further stated that "I want to ask the BJD chief why he didn't come and neither allowed any party leaders to pay tributes to my father. Whether this or raising my voice against rising incidents of rape and goondaism in the State was a betrayal?" A few days back the BJD had tagged Panda a betrayer and dug up the 2014 election affidavit of Panda alleging it to be false.
The former parliamentarian also stated that already the foundation for development in Kendrapara has been laid and it was only during his term as MP that the work for the first railway line was done.
"I dream of industrialisation and jobs and I believe that it will be fulfilled soon," Panda added.
CM Naveen in an interview to National TV channel NDTV had accused Panda of spreading rumours about his health conditions.
