Jawan threatens to jump off water tank after denied leave

Bhubaneswar: In a fit of anger, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan threatened to kill self by jumping from the top of a water tank on the premises of CRPF campus here.
The fellow jawans had a tough time to pacify an irate havildar Narendra Singh who climbed atop a 60-ft height water tank after being denied leave by the authorities. The jawans requested him not to take any fatal step while Narendra responded little.
Later, they informed the higher-ups of CRPF regarding the matter who assured the angry jawan of leave. On being assured, Narendra agreed to get down from the tank after a long time.
According to sources, Narendra had applied for leave some days ago and was denied by the authority following which he was under mental pressure.
Earlier, a similar incident happened in the CRPF campus when a jawan spent a night atop the water tank giving sleep lees night to the authorities.
