Kendrapara: Union Minister and senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today appealed the people of Odisha to join PM Narendra Modi’s call for ‘parivartan’ (change).

Addressing party’s Vijay Sankalp Samabesh in Salepur of Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency, Naqvi said its time people of Odisha should follow the path of development that PM Modi has formulated for more than 130 crore people of the country.

Election 2019 is all about parivartan and we want that the wave of change stirred by PM Modi should spur a ‘parivartan’ in Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies of Odisha.

Addressing the public during the programme in presence of party's Salepur MLA candidate Prakash Behera, BJP’s Kendrapara LS candidate Baijayant Panda also targeted the State government alleging that it was intentionally creating problems to delay construction of a over bridge in Tangi area.

“I had called hunderds of meetings at New Delhi and Bhubaneswar for construction of much-needed over bridge in Tangi area. Despite being the leader of the Opposition party, Prakash supported me to rake up several issues concerning the development of various infrastructure projects in the segment. But the State government under the ruling-BJD to which I also belonged, created roadblocks to stall the projects," Panda said.

“When I represented Kendrapara, the first ever railway line was laid in the district, but after so many years it is not yet functional. As far as the delay of projects is concerned, most of the issues were because of the ruling-BJD and not due to the Centre," Panda added.
