Malkangiri: An Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawan was killed while another sustained injuries after coming in contact with a live electric wire in Malkangiri today.

According to sources, the jawan identified as Rahul Kumar Behera and his colleague Ganga Sabar were repairing a high-mast light by climbing a ladder on an electric pole near the IRB camp in Mathili area when the former accidentally came in contact with an overhead live 11 KV electric wire.

While Rahul was killed on the spot after receiving electric shock from the high tension electric wire, Ganga sustained severe injuries during the incident but fortunately survived. Later, he was immediately rushed to Koraput Medical College for treatment.
