Bhubaneswar: Irate locals on Sunday blocked National Highway-55 demanding compensation for the death of a man in an elephant attack.

The deceased identified as Bishikeshan Mirdha of Redhakhol NAC was attacked by an elephant while he was walking on the road. 

Meanwhile, the District Forest Officer has agreed to give Rs 7,000 to the family of the deceased after which the road block was cleared.
