Paradip: Indian Oil Corporation's refinery at Paradip is all set to be commissioned by October this year.

"The Rs 29,777-crore project has already achieved 93.2 per cent progress. We are scheduled to commission the refinery in Sepetmber-October this year," IOC Paradip refinery project executive director M Vijaywargiya told reporters here.

More than 500 engineers and officers of IOC are toiling round the clock at the project site, he said adding the refinery would be the most modern export-orientated processing unit and IOC's largest investment in a single project.

Vijaywargiya said IOC is committed to provide employment to displaced families on merit. Out of 143 displaced families, 95 families have been given money in lieu of jobs and at least one member each from the rest families would be given employment.

The displaced persons who are already engaged on contractual basis, will get regular service when the refinery is commissioned.

Replying a question, he said the public sector had allocated Rs 174.5 lakh under corporate social responsibility during 2012-13.
