Balasore: At a time when most of the people are busy in their own lives, Sk Manan of Balasore has dedicated his life for the service of others. With a broom in his hands, Manan is now on a mission to spread the message of cleanliness in the city. Be it the temple, mosque or church, Manan can be seen moving different places on his bicycle and clearing the waste left over by others.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Manan is now trying to raise awareness about overall cleanliness. Moreover, he doesn't even charge money for his service which has been appreciated by many.
"I am working for the country and want it to be clean," said Manan.
The people in Balasore have lauded the efforts of Manan to raise awareness about the Swachh Bharat Mission through his unique initiative.
"He is an inspiration for everybody. We always see him sweeping the roads, localities and other public places for which he doesn't take any money," said Intequam Ali Khan, a local resident.
Balasore ADM, Manas Ranjan Das said, "Everybody should take inspiration from SK Manan and try to clean our locality clean. This will certainly help others to contribute their part in maintaining all-around sanitation."
