Bhubaneswar: A Commissionerate Police inspector, who had earlier investigated Artha Tatwa (AT) scam, appeared before the CBI today.

Though reason of CBI calling him is not confirmed, inspector Manoj Samant told media after coming out of the CBI office that the Central agency called him to help prepare the chargesheet against AT group.

“CBI called me to assist in preparation of the chargesheet against Artha Tatwa. The agency considers me as a witness as I was earlier investigating the scam,” Samant said.

Even as Samant clarified about the CBI summon, it is speculated that CBI could have asked him whether he had any links with the money circulation company.

An FIR against AT group was registered at Kharavela Nagar police station here when Samant was the inspector. The Commissionerate Police had written to the Finance department three times to attach the properties of the company.

Notably, two senior IPS officers – Rajesh Kumar and Satish Gajbhiye – were interrogated for their alleged links with Seashore middleman Subhankar Nayak.
