Tension gripped BJB College in Bhubaneswar on Friday after students raised serious concerns over the quality and hygiene of food being served in the college hostel. The situation escalated when repeated complaints of insects being found in hostel meals allegedly went unaddressed by the authorities.
According to reports, Plus 2 girl students residing in the college hostel expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating that they had informed the hostel superintendent several times about insects in the food. However, they alleged that no effective or permanent measures were taken to resolve the issue, forcing them to voice their protest more strongly.
With the problem persisting, the aggrieved students lodged a formal complaint with the college principal, demanding immediate intervention. They stressed that the quality of food posed a serious health risk and called for urgent steps to ensure hygienic, safe, and nutritious meals in the hostel.
