Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni, playing the role of Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra in the upcoming Odia film ‘Patnagarh’ shares his thoughts on his first Odia movie and the character. The much awaited film being made in both Odia and Telugu  is set to hit the screens in Dussehra.

 

Your experience in Odisha?

 

This is my first time in Odisha and first Odia movie. Actor Manoj Mishra and I studied together and we have had on several occasions discussed about visiting his place here. Finally after all these years, here I am. It is a great feeling

 

The bi-lingual movie 'Patnagarh' is based on a real life incident. How do you find the story?

 

"Real" stories about humans are always gripping. I find the story very intriguing and interesting.

 

People in Odisha have lot of expectations from the movie. Since the shooting is underway, how do you find the movie in terms of quality ?

 

There comes a time when a couple of movies change  entire face of the industry. This is going to be one such film. The kind of hard work everyone is putting into making Patnagarh is definitely going to reap dividends for the industry as a whole. It is definitely going to be an important film for the Odia film industry.

 

How was it playing the role of Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra ?

Bothra ji had tweeted about the movie and I had replied him that it would be an honour to play his role in the movie. He is definitely an efficient and meticulous officer and I am proud to play the part.
