Bhubaneswar: With only a few hours left for the crucial India-Netherlands quarterfinal tie in the Hockey Men’s World Cup, former Indian captain Sadar Singh today advised the men in blue to stick to the game plan. In an exclusive interview to OTV, Singh stated that both India and the Netherlands are playing good Hockey and have a lot of match-winning players.

“Usually the Netherlands team focuses on men-to-men marking and are good at rotation. India just needs to stick to the plan and strategy as chalked out by the coach and they also need to be quick in decision making,” said Singh.

Singh further informed that Indian players can easily break the tactical approach of Netherlands by passing the ball from right to left flanks and once the opponent is dodged; our boys will get a good space on the ground.

“No doubt it is a crucial match as the winning team will sail through to the semi-final. Team India needs also needs to focus on not repeating silly mistakes and try to kill time and keep the ball in their own court after taking early lead,” Singh added.
