"Whatever the men in the family earn, they use it to consume alcohol and return home in an inebriated state. They are even selling the vegetables they produce just to buy liquor. When the women protest against this behaviour, they are subjected to physical abuse. In such circumstances, how are we supposed to run our families and nurture our children?" asked Bhagabati Sahu, a protesting woman.
