Humane Sagar’s last rites to be performed at Titilagarh today, fans mourn singer’s untimely demise

Odia music lovers are grieving the untimely demise of popular playback singer Humane Sagar, whose sudden death has left a deep void in Odisha’s cultural landscape. The singer breathed his last at 9:08 pm on Monday at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he had been undergoing intensive treatment.

Doctors confirmed that Humane Sagar had developed serious liver complications, and his condition deteriorated rapidly. Multiple organs had stopped functioning despite continuous monitoring by a dedicated medical team assigned to his case. He was declared dead late in the night after all efforts to stabilise him failed.

Following the completion of medical and legal formalities at AIIMS, his mortal remains were shifted to his residence in Cuttack around midnight. A large number of admirers, friends, and members of the Odia film and music fraternity gathered to pay their last respects. Emotional scenes unfolded as fans queued up for a final glimpse of the singer who had touched countless hearts through his music.

This morning, the body is being taken to his native village, Deng in Titilagarh, where the final rites will be performed. Preparations are underway in the village, as locals have gathered to get one last glimpse of their beloved artist.

Humane Sagar, celebrated for his powerful and emotional renditions, rose from humble beginnings to become one of Odisha’s most recognisable voices. His death has sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with colleagues, public figures, and fans expressing shock and offering condolences.
