Nuapada: Odisha-Chhattisgarh police seized huge cache of explosives during a joint combing operation in Dharambandha forest under Sunabeda sanctuary here on Wednesday.

The police along with CRPF jawans seized explosives weighing around 8 kg. Besides, red clothes and posters were also recovered from a makeshift camp in the forest, said Nuapada SP Umashankar Das.

Around 15 to 20 Maoists were residing in the temporary camp and were planning a large scale attack, added SP.

Earlier on April 27, Rourkela police, DVF and CRPF had seized explosives weighing around 30 kg from Saranda forest under Balang police limits of Sundergarh district.
