A major fire broke out late Sunday night in the Paradip Cabin Market area, completely gutting a house and destroying furniture and belongings worth lakhs of rupees. The blaze engulfed the structure rapidly, leaving it reduced to ashes by the time fire services arrived.

According to preliminary information, the fire is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no one was present inside the house when the incident occurred.

Three fire brigade units rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control after a strenuous operation. While the exact cause of the fire had not been confirmed at the time of reporting, officials indicated that a short circuit was the likely reason behind the massive blaze.

Sources said the family residing in the house had been away in their village for over three days. With the house locked and vacant, no family members or animals were inside when the fire started. However, the complete closure of the house led to extensive loss, as valuable items and household belongings worth several lakhs were destroyed in the inferno.

Fire Services Respond Promptly

Three Fire Department units from Kujang and Paradip Port reached the scene and struggled to control the blaze due to its intensity. Fire service personnel ensured that the flames were completely extinguished before entering the premises, considering the possibility of gas cylinders being present inside the house. Fire services brought the situation under control after several hours of effort.
