Bhubaneswar: On the concluding day of winter session, the State Assembly today witnessed pandemonium at the beginning of the House over farmers’ issues which forced Speaker Pradip Amat to adjourn the House till 12.30 pm.
 
The opposition brought adjournment motion on the problems of farmers, which was rejected by the speaker following which they created ruckus in the House.  Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh and his supporters raised the farmers’ issues during the question-answer round at the beginning of the Assembly demanding bonus for paddy and pension for farmers.
 
The Opposition members rushed to the well with placards mentioning hike in minimum support price of paddy.
 
On the other hand, responding to the Opposition demand, ruling party members replied that the Centre should hike the MSP of paddy first.
 
Later, the opposition members staged a demonstration near the Mahatma Gandhi statue outside the Assembly continuing their slogans for farmers.
