Hotel worker murdered near college chhak in Puri, Police launch probe

A murder case has been reported near College Chhak in Puri, triggering concern among local residents. The victim, identified as Tuku, a native of Jaleswar in Balasore district, was found dead with multiple injuries on his abdomen and other parts of the body on Saturday morning. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Town Police Station.

On receiving information, the Puri Superintendent of Police, along with Town Police personnel, rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the victim had suffered fatal injuries, though the exact circumstances leading to the attack are yet to be established.

Police officials stated that the deceased had been working as a helper at a hotel located near SCS College for the past month and was residing on the hotel premises. At this stage, it remains unclear whether any internal dispute, personal enmity, or other factors led to the crime.

Addressing the media, Puri SP Prateek Singh said that Town Police received an early morning alert from the SCS College area regarding a person lying injured and bleeding. Police teams immediately reached the location and shifted the injured man to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A case of murder has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

As part of the probe, police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the sequence of events and identify those involved. Officials confirmed that multiple angles are being explored to ascertain the motive behind the crime.

No arrests have been made so far, and the identity of the assailant remains unknown. Police have assured that further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
