His words should reflect in his deeds: Rout
Yesterday, Naveen Patnaik has said, all the decisions were taken by him.
Reacting to this, Rout welcomed the statement adding that if he takes all the decisions then he should be held responsible for wrong decisions also. However, he categorically denied commenting on BJD MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra’s statement in which the latter had emphasized that there is no scope for second power centre in the party.
Rout, who was dropped from the ministry in the recent cabinet reshuffle, raised the power centre issue in the ruling party by alleging that chief minister was implementing agenda of MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra instead of taking his own decision. He had termed chief minister as executor of Mohapatra’s strategies.
Replying to a query on his future in the party, Rout said he whole-heartedly accepts Naveen Patnaik as leader of the party and would continue to work under his leadership. If sacked, he would continue to remain in active politics as there is no retirement age limit in politics, Rout said.
On the other hand, Jagatsinghpur MLA Bishnu Das said, “Naveen Patnaik is the leader of the party formed after legendary leader Biju Patnaik. No individual is above the party. Ouster of any undisciplined leader would not affect the party or any constituency especially Jagatsinghpur”.
Raising many eyebrows, a member of coalition partner NCP today accused Pyarimohan Mohapatra of being the real power centre who takes all the decisions.
In a press conference held here, NCP member Arun De said, “BJD MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra has been the only power centre since last five years. He takes all the decisions and without his approval no file is moved”.
