Bhubaneswar: Following heavy showers that lashed the capital city on Thursday, local Meteorological department predicts moderate to heavy rainfall in central and internal parts of the state. Many regions of Odisha received heavy rainfall due to the formation of a cyclonic storm in northern parts of Bay of Bengal, it said.
A further weather report forecasts that rainfall is expected in next 48 hours if the cyclonic storm takes the form of low pressure.
Except Bhawanipatna and Jharsuguda, most parts have experienced heavy rains on Thursday. According to reports, Puri, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Paradeep, Berhampur, Gopalpur and Chandbali have recorded 40 to 70 mm of rainfall yesterday.
