Bhubaneswar: As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), normal life across Odisha was disrupted due to intense heat wave conditions with the mercury breaching 45 degree Celsius mark in Sambalpur on Tuesday.

As per the latest bulletin, 13 places in Odisha recorded temperature above 40 degrees today. Apart from Sambalpur, Hirakud recorded a maximum temperature of 44.4, Jharsuguda (44.2), Bhubaneswar (40.3) and Cuttack recorded 39.8 degree Celsius.

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued heat wave warning for next three days in Odisha.

The heat wave warning has been issued for 10 districts including Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Nuapada till June 13.
