Bhubaneswar: Normal life was affected across Odisha today as intense heat wave swept across many places in the State. In total, 11 places of the State recorded maximum temperature above 40 degree Celsius.

Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature of 43.5 degree Celsius followed by Angul and Bolangir at 42.7 and 42.5 degree Celsius respectively. Talcher was at 42.3 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda at 41.8 degree Celsius, Sonepur at 41.4 degree Celsius and Sambalpur at 41.1 degree Celsius.

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded the day’s maximum temperature at 40.2 and 39.4 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Centre has issued thunderstorm and lightning warning accompanied by light rainfall in five districts of the State till 9 PM today.

The warning has been issued for Sundergarh, Balasore, Jajpur, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts between 6 PM and 9 PM.
