Bhubaneswar: Agitation of the all Odisha contractual nurses association which entered second day on Monday has affected health services in the state badly. As many as 2000 nurses of the three government medical colleges and other government hospitals across the state boycotted services demanding regularisation of their services and hike in salary. The agitating members of the association also threatened for indefinite strike until their demands are met.

The nurses demanded hike in salary at par with the regular nurses since they claimed to be working full time like the latter. Hospital authorities however claimed that alternative arrangement has been made to deal with the situation.
