Headmistress’ husband accused of molesting student in Odisha school

Tension ran high at a primary school under Simulia police limits in Balasore district after a minor girl student was allegedly touched inappropriately and kissed forcibly by the husband of her school headmistress.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Rabindra Nayak, allegedly called the minor student on the pretext of giving her chocolates and molested her when she was alone inside the school’s office room. The matter came to the fore after the girl returned home crying and narrated the ordeal to her family members, following which the matter quickly spread in the village.

Angry villagers confronted and detained him when Nayak visited the school again the next day. In a dramatic turn, the accused reportedly confessed to his act in front of the camera, admitting to his inappropriate behaviour.

Meanwhile, the headmistress, who is Nayak’s wife, has claimed that she was unaware of the incident.

The villagers informed both the Simulia Block Education Officer (BEO) and the local police about the matter. Acting swiftly, a police team reached the spot and arrested the accused.

“My granddaughter goes to school. Her mother always drops her off at school. Even the headmistress was present in the school. Just as she left after dropping her off, the accused called her to a room, gave her chocolate and touched her inappropriately. The child then came home crying,” alleged the victim’s grandmother.

The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, with residents demanding strict action and a thorough investigation to ensure justice for the minor victim.
