Kendrapara: The anti-corruption vigilance sleuths trapped and arrested a headmistress of a state-run primary school in the Patkura police station area of the district while allegedly receiving monetary gratification.

The accused headmistress Chuimani Jena had allegedly demanded Rs 3,000 as bribe to engage Minati Panda as cook for a mid-day meal scheme.

The vigilance wing of the state police laid a trap on the basis of the complaint and caught the accused red-handed with the bribe amount, said officials.

Later the accused headmistress was remanded to judicial custody.
