Malkangiri: Bringing disgrace to the sacred ‘teacher-student relationship;’ two teachers, including the headmaster of a residential school in Malkangiri district were suspended from duty today for allegedly misbehaving with a minor girl student.

According to sources, two teachers of a residential school in the district were suspended after they were accused of misbehaving with a class VII student of the school. After the family members of the girl complained to the district administration authorities, the Collector directed the district child protection officials to lodge a complaint against the two accused.

ITDA Project Director Ramakrushna Ganda said “The two teachers including the headmaster of the school have been suspended from their duties after a probe report was submitted to the Collector.”

In the last few days, several such incidents of misbehaviour against minor schoolgirls have been surfacing leading to state-wide outrage.
