Bhadrak: A tragic road accident occurred early Sunday morning at Basudebpur in Bhadrak district after a head-on collision between a sand-laden Hyva and a steel-laden trailer. Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles following the crash, with the trailer driver sustaining critical injuries.

Rescue Operation By Fire Brigade and Police

The accident took place near Mataji Math Chowk on the Jamujhadi road. The impact of the collision was so severe that the front portions of both vehicles were completely mangled, complicating rescue efforts. The trailer driver, identified as a resident of Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district, was reported to be in a critical condition.

Upon receiving information, Basudebpur police and the local fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched a joint rescue operation. With assistance from nearby residents, the trapped drivers were extricated after considerable effort and rushed to the Basudebpur Health Centre. The critically injured trailer driver was provided immediate medical attention.
