Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today quashed a notification issued by the state government asking teachers of schools and colleges to submit affidavit for regularisation of jobs.

Justice AK Rath quashed the notification stating that conditions mentioned in the notification is violation of fundamental rights of people.

Petitioner’s counsel, Buddhadeb Routray, said, “The court has quashed a notification issued by the State government. This violates the fundamental rights as per the Article 14 and 21. Similar orders were passed by the SC in 2016 and 2012. On basis of the apex court's order, the HC quashed the notification.”

“We have been demanding for the same earlier. But the State government has been rejecting the suggestion,” said Odisha School College Teachers' and Employees' United Forum’s Golak Mohapatra,

Teachers have been asking for withdrawal of the affidavit that made mandatory by the state government to get the benefits in grant in-aid policy.
