Cuttack/Bhubaneswar: The High Court today asked the district superintendent of police of Puri to submit the inquiry report on the Pipli gangrape case and also asked the deputy commissioner of police of Bhubaneswar to provide female security guard to the rape victim under treatement in the intensive care unit of the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, the director general of police, Manmohan Praharaj has ordered crime branch investigation into the gruesome incident under the supervision of additional superintendent of police Jayashree Kundu. The five member inquiry team today visited the capital hospital to conduct the probe.

Amid the hype and hoopla generated over the sensational rape incident, the least said about the plight of the family members of the rape victim the better perhaps. The unwarranted incident has left them awestruck. They have been waiting outside the ICU of Capital hospital as they are not allowed inside and pray for the recovery of the victim.    

The Puri SP Amitendra Nath Sinha visited the village of the victim to conduct the inquiry. The SDPO, Pipli, has been asked to investigate the matter and submit the report. The elder brother of the victim has filed an FIR in the Pipli police station in this connnection. The High Court would on Wednesday review the treatment provided to the victim in the Capital hospital.
