Bhuabneswar: Noted Odia litterateur Harprasad Das will be honoured with the Bharatiya Jnanpith’s prestigious Moortidevi Award for the year of 2013 for his epic creation 'Vamsha'. This is the second Moortidevi award for Odia literature.

Delhi-based Rajkamal Prakashan Group has published the Hindi translation of 'Vamsha', a modern poetic form of Mahabharata.

Notably, Das had bagged Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award for his literary work 'Garbhagriha'. He had also won Sarala Puraskar for 'Harmonium Ra Todi' in 2008.

Dr. Pratibha Ray was awarded with the Moortidevi Award in 1991 for her Novel 'Yajnaseni'.
