Harassment charges levelled against Nabarangpur SP

Nabarangpur: Two subordinate staff have brought harassment charges against Nabarangpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivekanand Sharma.

The two complainants - Rabin Kumar Lima and Debaraj Chanda were working as orderly at the residence of Sharma.

The two personnel accused the SP of punishing them for minor mistakes. Moreover, they alleged that the senior official used to beat and even forced them to do sit-ups as punishment.

“The SP asked me to do sit-ups for 50 times and made to run for failing to wake him up as per his instruction. Due to such physical punishment, I fell sick," said Lima.

Levelling similar charges, another complainant Chanda said, “The SP called me to his room, passed abusive remarks and punched my stomach.”

Meanwhile, despite several attempts SP Vivekanand Sharma could not be contacted over the allegations brought against him.
