Group clash over comment leaves four seriously injured in Balasore’s Baliapal

At least four people sustained serious injuries after a violent group clash broke out in Kuhlachada village under Baliapal police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Sunday night.

According to sources, tensions escalated following an argument triggered by objectionable comments, which quickly turned into a physical confrontation. Members of two groups allegedly attacked each other, leading to chaos and panic in the village.

During the clash, four persons suffered severe injuries. They were initially rescued by locals and later shifted to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for advanced medical treatment. Hospital sources said the injured remain in serious condition and are undergoing treatment under close medical supervision.

Following the incident, Baliapal police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the clash. Police are questioning local residents and examining whether the violence was premeditated or the result of sudden provocation.

To prevent further escalation and maintain law and order, additional police forces have been deployed in Kuhlachada village. Security has been tightened, and continuous patrolling is being carried out in the area.

Officials stated that the situation is currently under control. Further legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation. Police have appealed to residents to maintain peace and cooperate with the administration.
