Bhubaneswar: Celebrating the magical bond between a mother and her daughter, the grand finale ‘Maatritava Pageant-2018’ was held at Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

As many as 12 mother and daughter pairs walked the ramp and showcased their talents. The event was organised by city-based fashion designer Sweta Parekh.

Pratibha Pradhan and Maitri Monali were selected the best mother and daughter pair at the beauty contest.

Sushma Seth received the life time achievement award and astrologer Binod Acharya was honored with the excellence award at the event.

Bollywood actress Bipasa Basu and other eminent personalities including Sushma Seth and her daughter Divya Seth and transgender activists Gauri Sawant and Laxmi Narayan Tripathi graced the occasion.

Health Minister Pratap Jena, Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani and Ollywood actor and MLA Akash Dasnayak were also present during the event.

"The award is certainly different as it is all about the beautiful bond between mother and daughter. Our lives start with our mothers which is the substance of this pageant, "said Bipasa.
