Bhubaneswar: With no respite from the gruelling heat in most parts of the state, the stategovernment today decided to extend the summer vacation for schools by six more days, official sources said. "The schools across the state will now open on June 25 instead of June 18. The summer vacation is extended till June 23," School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena told reporters here.

Jena said the order was applicable to all schools including private, public and English medium schools. As June 24 is a Sunday, the schools will open on June 25, a notification issued by the school and mass education department said.
