Serious allegations have surfaced from Balasore district after government-supplied medicines meant for patients were allegedly burnt inside the premises of the Bahanaga Primary Health Centre.
According to sources, while patients are reportedly being denied essential medicines, cartons of government-provided drugs were either dumped in garbage heaps or destroyed by burning within the health centre campus.
After a similar incident was reported from Remuna block, shocking visuals have now emerged from Bahanaga, raising questions over the management and monitoring of public health facilities.
Local residents and public representatives have expressed strong resentment over the incident, alleging that medicines supplied under government healthcare schemes are not reaching patients and are being wasted instead.
Demanding accountability, locals have called for a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible for the alleged negligence.

Medical In-charge Dr Dhiresh Sarangi said the matter is under examination and that a clear picture will emerge only after a detailed inquiry into the medicines found at the site.
