Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and rerteirated the demand of Special Category Status for the State.

"I requested him (PM Modi) for Special Category Status for Odisha. We have been hit by the recent cyclone which has done a great deal of damage, I asked for Rs 5000 crore & 5 lakh pucca houses for the cyclone affected people," said CM Naveen to media after the meeting.

The CM also asked for revision of coal royalty citing that a revision has not been done since long. "It (revision of the royalty) will give us a lot of revenue to help us," he said.

Responding to media querry, Naveen further said that there was no discussion on implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker seat during the meeting.
