Girl torches bikes of estranged lover in revenge

Kandhamal: Betrayed in love, a girl allegedly set afire three motorcycles parked outside the house of a youth at Sunapangasahi under Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district on Saturday night.

The incident has reminded people of the girl who had reportedly danced in front of her boyfriend's house in Gurugram in an inebriated condition. But the girl in Odisha allegedly set fire to three bikes to take revenge over the youth identified as Dinesh Nayak who allegedly refused to be in a relationship with her.

However, when the girl was contacted, she refuted the charges of torching the vehicles and alleged that Dinesh used to physically assault her.

"We were in a relationship and Dinesh used to torture me. I have no knowledge about the torching of vehicles. Today in the morning, he even attacked me when I went to his house to meet him," said the girl.

Dinesh, on the other hand, claimed that their relationship had turned sour following some misunderstanding. "We were staying together but later due to some reasons, we got separated. Since then we started living with our parents," said Dinesh.
