Puri: Singhadwar Police on Thursday detained a girl for allegedly recording a mobile video inside premises of Lord Jagannath temple in Puri & later posting it on social media video sharing app TikTok.

According to sources, the minor girl, who hails Nirakarpur area in Khurda district was traced by police with help of her social media account. Based on the direction of the police, the girl along with her family members deposed at the Singhadwar Police Station on Thursday where she was interrogated by the cops in connection with the case.

Speaking on the matter Additional SP Arun Jena said, "A complaint was lodged by the Srimandir administration at Singhadwar PS on October 28 following which a case was registered. Singhadwar IIC Ranjan Mallick is investigating the case and action will be taken in connection with the case under Section 295A of IPC, Section 13 Ancient Monument Act, Section 66 of IT Act & Section 30A of Jagannath Temple Administration Act."

According to sources, a few days back the girl had recorded a TikTok video of Bhoga Mandap and Anandabazaar inside Srimandir and also posted the video on her social media profile despite stringent restrictions on the entry of mobiles and any other forms of electronic gadgets into the 12th-century shrine.
