Ghusuridunga Waterfall To Be Developed Into Tourist Hub: Ganjam Collector
Ganjam: District collector Vijay Amrut Kulange visited the Ghusuridunga waterfall in the remote B.Sagadabasa village under Sorada block here on Thursday and assured the local tribal residents to develop the site into a tourist destination.
Sorada MLA Purnachandra Swain and locals had approached the Collector demanding measures for the development of the waterfall site in order to attract visitors from the State and outside. Locals said many people visit the waterfall site every year, however, due to the lack of infrastructure and other facilities, it has remained unknown.
Taking cognizance of the demands, Kulange visited B.Sagadabasa village yesterday and inspected the Ghusurdunga waterfall site. Later, he assured the locals to transform the waterfall site into a tourism hub.
A villager of Sagadabasa, Rama Sabar said, “Though people from different parts of the State come here for sightseeing, it is still not famous. I am proud the district Collector visited our village. If the site is developed into a tourist site, the lifestyle of the tribal population of the area will change and they can also earn livelihood.”
” Sorada MLA had sent me the pictures of the unexplored waterfall following which I decided to personally inspect the site. The spot is very beautiful but the road leading to the waterfall needs re-construction to make it motorable,” Kulange stated after visiting the place.
A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared and a proposal to develop it into a tourist destination will be sent to the government.
